The Dell Alienware AW3225QF is the best OLED monitor we've tested. One of the first 4k, 240Hz QD-OLEDs available, it's better than other OLEDs because of its high refresh rate. This makes it ideal even for competitive gamers who crave a smooth gaming feel, and the high resolution delivers a detailed image. Like any OLED, it has a near-instantaneous response time, resulting in crisp motion, and it supports all common VRR formats to reduce screen tearing. It's also ideal for console gamers thanks to its HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, as it supports 4k signals up to 120Hz from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

On top of its exceptional gaming performance, its QD-OLED panel delivers outstanding picture quality because it displays bright highlights and vivid colors and has deep blacks in dark rooms. It has a few extra features like Dolby Vision and eARC, but you need to update its firmware for them to work properly. If you can't find it in your region, you may also have to look for other models with the same panel, like the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM, but the Dell still costs less. Even the LG 32GS95UE-B is a unique alternative that supports up to a 480Hz refresh rate, but with a W-OLED panel, colors aren't as vivid.

If you don't want a 32-inch screen like the Dell Alienware AW3225QF and prefer a smaller 27-inch screen, there are many options, including 1440p QD-OLEDs with an even higher 360Hz refresh rate. The Dell Alienware AW2725DF is the best OLED gaming monitor if you want such a high refresh rate. It delivers the same outstanding picture quality as the AW3225QF with deep blacks and bright highlights, but it's different in a few ways. It doesn't have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, so you can only reach its max refresh rate with a DisplayPort connection, and it doesn't have as many extra features like eARC or Dolby Vision.

Although the AW3225QF's high resolution is ideal for console gaming, the lower resolution and higher refresh rate on the AW2725DF make it an outstanding choice even for competitive esports gamers. If you don't need such a high refresh rate, other lower refresh rate options with a W-OLED panel tend to cost a bit less, like the LG 27GS95QE-B. However, these W-OLED monitors don't deliver the same vivid colors as a QD-OLED display, so the overall picture quality is worse.

If you don't want a monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio like on the Dell Alienware AW2725DF and prefer something that offers more horizontal screen space, then check out the ultrawide Dell Alienware AW3423DWF. The wider screen is great for atmospheric games, and because it also uses a QD-OLED panel, it delivers outstanding picture quality. The main downside is that it has a lower 165Hz refresh rate than the AW2725DF. While this is still fine for most gamers, it isn't as ideal for competitive gaming. If you do want such a high refresh rate, there are other ultrawide OLEDs with a 240Hz refresh rate, like the LG 34GS95QE-B. However, with a W-OLED panel, it doesn't deliver the same bright highlights as the AW3423DWF.

Regarding gaming performance, the AW3423DWF offers everything you'd expect in an OLED gaming monitor, like a near-instantaneous response time and VRR support. It's G-SYNC compatible and works with NVIDIA graphics cards, but you can also check out the Dell Alienware AW3423DW if you want something with native G-SYNC support instead. However, it's more costly, so the AW3423DWF is the better option for most people.
