The TP-Link Archer AXE95, also known as the TP-Link Archer AXE7800, is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E router with 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. It has a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, and five network ports, one of which is rated for 2.5Gbps speeds over WAN or LAN. Like most of TP-Link's current routers, it supports WPA3 security and OneMesh technology, allowing you to configure a mesh network with other OneMesh-compatible devices from TP-Link. You can set up and manage the router using TP-Link's Tether app or the web interface, where you can also configure parental controls.

Our Verdict

N/A Apartment/Condo

The TP-Link Archer AXE7800 is a great router if you live in an apartment, condo, or small home. It delivers impressive speeds across a single story, suitable for multiple users streaming high-bitrate 4k content or downloading large files quickly. The router also has a 2.5Gbps port and two USB ports for local file sharing. Its biggest downside is its size, which is rather large and bulky, with eight large external antennas.

Pros
  • Impressive top speeds.
  • 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port.
  • Wi-Fi 6E support.
Cons
  • Big and bulky design.
N/A Multi-Level House

The TP-Link Archer AXE7800 is a very good router if you live in a multi-level house. It provides great coverage throughout a home with multiple stories and delivers fast speeds that are suitable for downloading large files like game updates quickly. It's a standalone router and not a mesh system, so its speeds drop when you're very far away, but this isn't an issue unless your home is very big. Additionally, the router has a 2.5Gbps port and two USB ports for local file sharing. Its size is its biggest downfall, as it's rather large and bulky and has eight large external antennas.

Pros
  • Impressive top speeds.
  • Very good range performance.
  • 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port.
  • Wi-Fi 6E support.
Cons
  • Standalone router that may have deadzones if you have a very large home.
  • Big and bulky design.
N/A Speed

The TP-Link AXE7800 delivers impressive top speeds suitable for a gigabit internet connection. It also supports DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection), so it can use less congested DFS-only channels to give you better speeds in noisy wireless environments.

Pros
  • Impressive top speeds.
  • Wi-Fi 6E support.
Cons
N/A Range

The TP-Link AXE7800 has very good range despite being a standalone router. However, you may experience deadzones if you have a very large home with obstacles like concrete walls. That said, it's compatible with TP-Link OneMesh range extenders to increase the range further.

Pros
  • Very good range performance.
Cons
  • Standalone router that may have deadzones if you have a very large home.
  • N/A Apartment/Condo
  • N/A Multi-Level House

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The TP-Link Archer AXE95 doesn't have any variants, but it's also referred to as the TP-Link Archer AXE7800. Here's a photo of our unit's label.

Compared To Other Routers

The TP-Link Archer AXE7800 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E router with 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. It has a 2.5Gbps network port and two USB ports.

This router performs similarly to the ASUS RT-AXE7800, another standalone Wi-Fi 6E router in its price range, but since it's a standalone router, it doesn't fare as well as a mesh system like the eero Pro 6E in terms of range.
