The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is a blender/food processor combo that has an 80oz main pitcher capacity, so it can hold more than most blenders. It also includes a separate 72oz food processor and a 24oz personal jar for single-serve drinks like smoothies. It has various automatic blending programs but limited speed settings for manual blending.

Our Verdict

N/A Multi-Purpose

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is decent for multi-purpose use. It's very good for some uses, like ice crushing or making recipes like nut butter or hummus. The personal jar works great for single-serve drinks like smoothies or protein shakes, and it comes with a 72oz food processor for slicing and chopping. However, it has some limitations. It can't be used for hot blending, and if you use the 80oz main pitcher, it won't make a smooth blend with fibrous ingredients like kale or fruits.

Pros
  • Quiet for a blender.
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Large 80oz main pitcher.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
Cons
  • Main pitcher makes a grainy blend with fibrous ingredients.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
  • Can't hot blend.
N/A Smoothies (Single Serving)

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is excellent for single-serve smoothies. While it's not ideal for blending fibrous ingredients in its main jar, you get faster speeds with the 24oz personal jar, and it can smoothly blend smaller batches of fruit or leafy greens. The personal jar comes with a resealable lid, and all of its components are dishwasher-safe.

Pros
  • Quiet for a blender.
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Personal jar included.
  • Smoothly blends small batches of fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
N/A Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

It's very good for multiple servings of smoothies. The main jar has an 80oz liquid capacity, so it can hold more than most blenders. It easily crushes ice cubes. However, it can't make a smooth blend with big batches of fibrous ingredients in its main jar, so recipes with stubborn ingredients like leafy greens won't be smooth.

N/A Ice Crushing

This blender is fantastic for ice-crushing. It can easily make big batches of snow-like crushed ice in its 80oz jar.

Pros
  • Quiet for a blender.
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Large 80oz main pitcher.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
Cons
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
N/A Soups

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System isn't a good blender for soup. It can't blend hot ingredients, so you'll have to let any cooked ingredients cool before blending. The main jar has an 80oz capacity, so it can fit most recipes in one batch, but it can't smoothly blend fibrous ingredients like kale or broccoli.

Pros
  • Quiet for a blender.
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Large 80oz main pitcher.
Cons
  • Main pitcher makes a grainy blend with fibrous ingredients.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
  • Can't hot blend.
N/A Professional Use

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is decent for professional use. It's fantastic for ice-crushing and easy to use for recipes like nut butter or hummus. The main jar has a big 80oz capacity. However, some parts, like the buttons, feel flimsy. It can't hot blend and won't make a smooth blend with fibrous ingredients like kale in its main jar.

  • N/A Multi-Purpose
  • N/A Smoothies (Single Serving)
  • N/A Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

There's only one variant of the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System. It's primarily available at Costco (U.S.). You can see the label for the unit we tested here.

If you come across another variant, let us know in the forums, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Blenders

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is a blender/food processor combo. It's very similar to the Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender, except that its main pitcher and food processor have a bigger capacity. Unfortunately, it's also less well-built and has a lower blending compared with the Detect and most other Ninja blenders. It can't hot blend and won't make a smooth blend with fibrous ingredients in its main pitcher. If you want a blender/food processor combo that can make a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients, you might prefer the NutriBullet Triple Prep System, which can also hot blend, or the sturdier Ninja Mega Kitchen System.

If you're looking for a recommendation, check out the best blenders, the best blenders for smoothies, and the best Ninja blenders.

Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender

The Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender is a slightly better blender/food processor combo than the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System. The Detect feels better built and makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients in its main pitcher. That said, the Deluxe is quieter when it's running and has a bigger capacity in its main pitcher and food processor.

Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ

The Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ is better than the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System. The Professional has a much better build quality and comes with a pair of personal jars instead of just one. The Deluxe has a bigger capacity in its main jar and food processor, but otherwise, they are very similar blenders.

Ninja Mega Kitchen System [BL770, BL770AMZ, BL771]

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a better blender/food processor than the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System. It's sturdier, makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients in its main jar, and comes with a couple of personal jars instead of one. However, you might prefer the Deluxe for its sleeker look and blending programs, which stop the blender automatically.

NutriBullet Triple Prep System

The NutriBullet Triple Prep System and the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System have different strengths. The NutriBullet is better for blending big batches of smoothies or soup in its main jar. You can use it for hot blending. The Ninja has a bigger capacity in both its main jar and food processor, and it's better for crushing ice and making nut butter.

Build Quality

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is decently well-built, but its build quality is a step down from other Ninja models like the Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender. The control panel is made of glossy plastic and has a dial and physical buttons. The dial feels a bit cheap. It sometimes won't register a press unless you press right in the center, and it can wobble from side to side, as you can see here. The buttons don't offer much physical feedback, either. Otherwise, its motor base is made of plastic, along with the jars, lids, and dough blade. The motor base has feet under it to help it stay in place. There's a locking mechanism for the main jar and food processor jar, so you can't start the blender unless the lid is in place.

The main pitcher's blade assembly is a column of six horizontal blades that are very sharp. There's also a dough blade with a similar design, except the blades are plastic and much less sharp. The personal jar blade assembly fits onto the jar like a lid and has six blades pointing in different directions. The food processor jar comes with a four-blade assembly, as well as a reversible disc for slicing and shredding. The blades are all dishwasher-safe.

The main jar's lid doesn't have a removable center piece for adding ingredients, but it has a pouring spout with a cover, so you can easily serve drinks from the pitcher. There's a button to release it from the jar. There's also a resealable lid for the personal jar. The food processor lid has a chute for adding ingredients. Like the main pitcher lid, it locks into place and releases with a button.

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is fantastic for small batches of fibrous ingredients. If you run a couple of 'Smoothie' programs, it makes a very smooth puree with ingredients like kale, with no unprocessed bits left over.

It's okay for processing fibrous ingredients at full capacity. However, for best results, you have to run several blending cycles or run it on 'High' for about five minutes, so it's a slow blender. In the end, it makes a chunky blend with visible unprocessed pieces left over. The result is drinkable but not silky-smooth.

The Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System is excellent for making nut butter. It doesn't make it as fast as some blenders, but it's a fairly hands-off process since you don't need to stop and scrape the jar walls very often. If you vary the speed and blend for several minutes, it makes very smooth, creamy nut butter.

When using the main jar, it has a very narrow range of speed settings. The lowest speed isn't very slow, and the fastest isn't very fast, even compared with other Ninja blenders like the Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender. Faster speeds would help with processing fibrous ingredients, and you don't have a lot of options for adjusting the speed based on your recipe.

However, you get faster speeds when using the personal jar (minimum 13500 RPM and maximum 16500 RPM), which helps with blending silky smoothies and shakes. The food processor has much slower speeds (minimum 2000 RPM and maximum 2500 RPM), which is expected for a food processor since you don't need super-fast speeds for slicing and chopping.

It's not easy to clean by hand. The blades are all removable but extremely sharp, so you have to be very careful not to cut yourself. There's also a hole in the bottom of the main jar blade assembly that can accumulate food, and you need a brush to clean it properly.
